The blue angel

The blue angel is a site-specific exhibition I did in 1994 inspired by a movie by Josef von Sternberg. The whole tragedy happens, somehow, in a kind of backstage stairway, and is the story of the decadence of a person. Here in those blue rooms, (an abandoned flat in Lisbon) I present parts of a body being reassembled. These rooms will be present in my work for many years afterward. Photos by João Firmino
