Ai flores do verde pinho, 2001
Ai flores do verde pinho These are a group of big size drawings 120X90 cm, made over black and white photocopies on paper. This project takes the cue from a “Chanson d’ami” a medieval poem of the Portuguese king D. Dinis where the woman asks the flowers of the forest about her lover/friend: "Ai Flores, ai flores do verde pinho, sabedes novas do meu amigo, ai deus i u e...." Oh flowers, oh flowers of the green pine, do you have news of my friend, oh god where is he... The works were presented at a gallery of the Botanical Garden, in Lisbon, and the flowers in the hand of the woman, are precise botanical specimens, mainly vegetables, drawn with colour pencils.
